Online Casino Scam Alert

As much as we’d like to think that most businesses are legitimate, it’s often good to be cynical and not trust every glossy looking website we see, especially if it involves us parting with our hard-earned cash. There are many reasons to play at an online casino, namely the great cash bonuses and the ease and convenience in that you can play from home or even your mobile phone.

However, there are signs to look out for that could lead to trouble if you ignore them. You’ll want to do your research, also known as due diligence. This little bit of extra time spent before registering at any online casino is the first step you should take.

Things to look out for are negative reviews. If you see a lot of them, these are red flags and should not be ignored. Even if the first couple of website mention a particular casino is ok, be sure to check at least 5 or 10 review sites which could be forums, blogs, and so on. You want to strive for at least 8 out of 10 positive reviews because there are people out there who complain about everything and are never satisifed. However, also judge the quality of the reviews you read. If someone is saying a casino is great, and not explain why, this is not sufficient enough during your evaluation phase.

Have a look at the online casino’s website. Remember, a dodgy casino is not going to plaster on their website they are there to take your money. See if they claim to be part of any regulatory groups and if so, contact those groups and verify they have an upstanding reputation. Most of what is being mentioned here goes for sites you’ve never heard of that might be offering free cash or other incentives that sound too good to be true.
